If brevity is a gift, then Sound Genesis clearly possesses this admirable quality in his music. The majority of his tracks are not more than a minute and a half long, but they are all just the right combination of chilled out beats, familiar vocal samples and laid back, melodic instrumentals.
His recent track, “Loose Change”, got me right when I needed it. It’s short and sweet, and is one of those tracks that is so good, makes you wish there was more of it. But, I suppose that’s the beauty of it, because it ends up in constant rotation. A playful Lil Wayne verse over one of Sound Genesis’ signature super smooth, head-nod beats, it clocks in at just 1:12. And I can’t get enough.
