The Last Dinosaur are a folk/ethereal music duo who pride themselves on not using computers to create their lush sounds. When you consider most electronic sounds are drawn from mouse clicks and USB-MIDI connectors, they’re in a league of their own. Now, The Little Lost Boy, a producer from the UK befriends these cats and decides to remix their debut release Hooray! for Happiness. Well, the result is a glitchy, broken beat-based experiment. Ruined succeeds by creating this mashing of folk and beats music. Sometimes it doesn’t work. When the chops are too rampant, “Every Second Is a Second Chance”, “Maps” it becomes difficult to distinguish ‘glitch’ and just plain destruction of the sound’s driving force.
