Born Philippe Edison, he’s a saxophone star (attending Berklee’s School of Music) who decided instead to drop all that and take a slightly World, partly hip-hop journey. [via] My opinion? He made the right choice switching to this. Nope, never heard him play sax, but I’d much rather enjoy Ganesha’s sparkling bells, boom-bap bass, heavy shaker and gorgeous ambiance than a rendition of Sonny Rollins’ “Plain Jane.” No offense, Sonny just does it better I’m sure. That said, these beats are dope, dope. Give ‘em a listen!
