Aaah, Aaah, Aaachhooooooo. Something about P O L L E N, gets me all the time. I was hesitant to call Gloam’s release a beat tape. The 22 tracks ranging from 30 seconds to two minutes in length sound more like elongated Adult Swim bumps (some more successfully mind numbing than others) than dedications to the art of percussion. That was a long fucking sentence to say: Meh, but what do I know? I’m certainly a fan of “Elderdweller” and a handful of other tracks. Their brevity and enthralling sample work keep me engaged. But, I get bored quick. You know though, I’m glad I gave it a shot. So, grab some headphones, a box of tissues and enjoy (NOT like that though.)
