Ghost Mutt’s bass music has never sounded so…’80s. I mean that in the best way possible. The ’80s is responsible for birthing the best music writer (myself) since Jeff Weiss and the at home workout regiment, a la, Richard Simmons…etc. So, I’m conflicted about ’80s music and it inspiring today’s music mostly because ’80s music sucked. However, there is something infectious about Sweat Mode‘s stuttering drops and decades old drum kit. It’s fun. I’m nodding my head to the tom-tom runs that resonate like a tin can. I’m saying, “Fuck yeah, more of that Michael Jackson bass please.” The ’80s have never felt more alive and I’m actually enjoying it! Thank you Ghost Mutt.
